OK, how do I defeat my mirror? (Ranger)
I didn't know I was that good! I mean, the guy is unreal no matter what skills I take he uses them better than me. He also seems to have better armour.... is that mirrored as well?
Any tips for beating the guy would be fantastic. Cheers Morat |

I'm a elemenalist, but here goes:
The mirror seems to be slightly more powerful... whatever skills you have. It can and will use. So what I did was firstly remove ALL healing and health buff/enchanment spells, so the mirror cannot use it. Next I select one nuke spell, which CAN be avoided if the target is moving... next I equip a high powered weapon, in my case a fire staff. The mirror as I expect is not that smart, so I wanted for the mirror to cast the nuke/knockdown spell Meteor Storm and simply ran away from it... next I used it on him... being only a stupid mirror it didn't moved... the rest was spamming it with my weapon Its takes a few goes... in the end it took me 10 times and 35 secs to kill my mirror.... Some will say they beat it in less then that, but unless your damn lucky or beaten it before their lieing. Good luck on beating it... you can do it... you just need to outsmart the Mirror. |

Knowing your secondary would help.Load up every useless spell you have nature rituals etc,no attack spells at all.I'm a ranger monk so i loaded reversal, zelots fire, balthazars and healing breeze for some reason he will not use healing breeze.stand next to him and let him beat himself to death on your shields and spam breeze on yourself.

i did my ranger by packing 3 5secs preparations.
he was 15 secs busy casting those (made sure they were worthless). by that time i allready had him down to 50% just bowing and no other skill. |

the trick is to cast every enchantment/healing spells before you step on the last stone (before the cinematic). You will then start your battle with them on, and you can concentrate on killing your mirror (he will have to cast his enchantments too, but during battle, and you don't).

bring a few nature skills, troll unguent, and distracting shot. while he is casting rituals, do regular bow shots up close so he switches to hammer and cant use distracting shot. if he tried to heal himself, use distracting shot. easy as pie.

^Why? Are you just trying to up your post count? Sad. To the poster, alot of good advice has been given already, especially about using useless preps and spirits. I believe(?) the ranger mirror hits harder with its bow then with its axe. Move into melee range and proceed to kill it, since his axe will do less damage. |

You know what the easiest thing to do is? Ok well I figured out that if u run right up to your ranger mirror, he pulls out a chaos axe for some reason... I dunno why, but I tried about a billion different things and strategies and thought too much into it, but basically, since if u run in close he pulls out a chaos axe, put about every bow shot that increases damage into ur skill bar, (power shot, penetrating shot, hunter's shot, point blank shot, etc), and u will be doing more damage to him than he will to you, and then you will beat him and ascend.

Just bring nature rituals that wont make a difference. Like everyone said, hes gonna cast most of them and that gives you alot of time just to shoot the hell out of him.

If the mirror doesnt pull the chaos axe when you run up to him, create a second weapon set with some sort of melee weapon to start the fight with. this will cause the mirror to change to the axe. then just switch back to your bow. It is a little cheap, but hey it works.
Also, i took off all skills except a weak healing breeze just in case. have fun. |

Well the good thing about all who have complained about their mirror being called mirror can now rejoice with the new update:
"??? Renamed Mirror Self to Doppelganger." PS - wth is a doppelganger anyway? |

Pack whirling defense and what bow skills you use to do dmg (bow attk skills or ignite arrows, whatever just as long as its a BOW skill) when it starts out throw up whirling defense and run at him, get toe to toe and he'll switch to axe instead of bow (he wont use whirling) while he sits there missing you're free slaughter him. I did it this way, whirling defense may wear off before you finish him but by that point the damage is already done so just take the hits, if you do it right you'll easily have him beat in time for the bonus.
